EQUITY RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Stephens Inc. is a full service, privately owned investment bank headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas, with offices across the country in key markets, as well as abroad in London. Founded in 1933, Stephens is one of the largest investment banking firms off of Wall Street. We serve a world-wide base of high net worth clients including corporations, state and local governments, institutions and individuals.
We are currently seeking an Equity Research Associate to join our Consumer Finance team. The associate will support the senior analyst on all aspects of developing and marketing Stephens’ equity research product.
Job Functions
- Conduct fundamental company and industry analysis through the use of SEC filings, financial statements, and interaction with company management, trade associations, and other sources.
- Create financial models and perform valuation analysis.
- Assist in writing research notes and reports
Requirements
- 1 – 2 years investment analysis experience is desired (buy or sell-side experience preferred)
- Strong financial modeling, accounting, valuation, and quantitative skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial statements.
- Candidate must possess a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously is imperative.
- Ability to process information accurately in a fast paced environment is crucial.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
- Possession of any of the required licenses (Series 7, 63, 86, 87) is helpful but not required.
- While the CFA designation is not required, progress toward obtaining the designation is helpful. The candidate will be expected to pursue the CFA designation once employed.
