Lisa McDaniel, CFA
President
Lisa McDaniel serves as a Financial Advisor for ALM First Financial Advisors. In this role, she reviews the asset/liability structure of client credit unions’ portfolios, and develops and executes strategies that maximize value while carefully managing risk. She also is responsible for providing economic commentary and writing the quarterly economic outlook for the firm and its clients. In addition, Ms. McDaniel serves as portfolio manager for the firm’s total return accounts, which provides investment management on a discretionary basis.
Ms. McDaniel has more than 18 years of experience in fixed-income analysis and investment portfolio management. Prior to joining ALM First, she was a vice president with Regions Bank Capital Management Group. While there, she managed institutional taxable, fixed-income accounts and collective funds consisting of government, corporate and mortgage-backed securities. Ms. McDaniel also had direct responsibility for managing more than $1 billion in assets, and served as a committee member, developing macro-level investment and fixed-income strategies. In addition, she performed oversight duties for the company and managed individual accounts for high-net-worth individuals and corporations.

Jeff Fahrenbruch, CFA

Jeff is a Managing Director at Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss. He joined the firm in 2002 and serves as an equity research generalist with a special interest in the healthcare and consumer staple sectors. The firm has provided value-oriented investment strategies to institutional investors, mutual funds, and family offices since 1979. BHMS currently manages over $55 billion in assets. Prior to joining BHMS, he was an equity analyst at Westwood Holdings Group from 1998 to 2002. Jeff earned a BBA with highest honors from the University of Texas, where he also served as an analyst on the MBA Investment Fund, LLC and competed on the UT golf team. Ben joined Caprock Capital in 2010 and is the Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer. Currently Ben leads the firm’s investment committee in investment decisions including: strategic/tactical asset allocation, investment manager due diligence, security selection and portfolio recommendations. Ben researches and reviews potential investments across the entire investment spectrum: including fixed income, domestic/international equity, and alternative investments – ranging from hedge funds, private equity and private, unique opportunities.
In addition, Ben is currently an adjunct graduate finance professor at the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to joining Caprock Capital, Ben was a managing director and portfolio manager with Cimarron Asset Management, LLC from 2003 to 2010. From 2002 to 2003, he was an equity research analyst with the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. He earned his MS and BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Chuck is a Market Investment Director for U.S. Trust, the nation’s oldest and largest Bank Trust Fiduciary. He manages a team of 7 investment professionals serving West Texas and New Mexico clients. He has over 24 years of experience as a money manager for high net worth individuals and their families, institutions and charitable organizations. Chuck’s investment background and expertise include managing both fixed income and growth equity funds, applying derivative strategies utilizing exchange listed and private options, and working with outside investment managers and family offices. He focuses on asset allocation strategy utilizing both stochastic analysis and financial planning to determine the most efficient investment mix appropriate for an individual client.
Chuck earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from Wabash College and a Master of Science in Finance degree from Boston College. Paul F. Olschwanger is the Director of Business Development at Adelante Capital Management LLC, a California based investment manager, specializing in public real estate securities. Since 1995, Adelante's team of investment professionals have created and managed portfolios of domestic REITs and in 2006, expanded its reach beyond the U.S. and began investing real estate securities globally. Prior to joining Adelante, Paul ran his own executive search, career coaching and organizational consulting firm for the past 12 years, focusing exclusively within the investment management industry. The firm completed over 100 search assignments and coached over 50 investment professionals throughout the U.S. Prior to establishing Olschwanger Partners, Paul held senior sales positions with a variety of money managers, including John Hancock and Fidelity. Jason Safran is a Senior Investment Analyst for the Wealth Management and Trust Group at Texas Capital Bank. He is responsible for the deployment of a sophisticated, disciplined, and integrated investment process for managing wealth. Jason provides investment research, manager due diligence and selection, and asset class research to maintain broadly diversified portfolios for client portfolios.
Jason began his career as a Research Associate with John McStay Investment Counsel, an investment boutique. After business school, Jason joined Cimarron Asset Management, a Dallas-based institutional investment advisory firm that specialized in the management of relative-value portfolios. Prior to joining Texas Capital Bank, Jason was a portfolio manager for Smith Asset Management, L.P.
Jason earned his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his BBA in Finance from Texas Christian University. Jason was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2005 and currently serves as a director for the CFA Society of Dallas-Ft. Worth.

Linda Y. Tse is Fund Controller with Capital Analytics, a subsidiary of the Private Fund Investment Group of Neuberger Berman Investment Management Firm (part of prior Lehman Brothers Investment Management Division), where she supervises fund accounting professionals to provide financial reporting and transaction management services to a merchant banking private equity fund with $1.9 billion committed capital. Prior to the merchant banking fund, Linda was supervising financial reporting for two real estate mezzanine investment funds with approximately $1.1 and $0.7 billion of committed capital respectively, deployed across 69 investments. Linda is also involved with reviewing investment valuation and ensuring integrity of financial reporting for the investment portfolios.
Ms. Tse earned her CFA designation in 2007 and CPA designation in 2002. As a member of the CFA Institute and CFA-DFW Society, Linda volunteered to join University Relations Committee and led several CFA designation promotion seminars held at various business schools which were well received. Dave Wiley has more than 25 years of experience in finance, investments, business valuation, and continuing education for finance professionals. He most recently served as a Vice President and Division Manager for Kaplan Professional, where he directed all CFA seminars worldwide. At Kaplan, Mr. Wiley developed and wrote content for the CFA, Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) instruction materials. He taught courses and developed content on the topics of Equity and Alternative Investments, Real Estate, Corporate Finance, Derivatives, Portfolio Management, and Ethical and Professional Standards.
Prior to joining Kaplan Professional, Mr. Wiley started and ran two companies which provided CFA preparation materials for CFA candidates. He conducted CFA seminars in the UK, Switzerland, and Italy, and asset allocation workshops for Ibbotson Associates. Before entering the field of financial education, Mr. Wiley served as a Vice President at Banc One (predecessor to JP Morgan Chase), where he held various responsibilities, including budgeting, strategic planning, financial planning and corporate finance. In addition to his professional duties, Mr. Wiley serves as the President of the Dallas-Fort Worth CFA Society. He has also served for over 20 years as the Education Chair and as a Board Member for the Society.
Mr. Wiley provides education, corporate finance, and expert testimony consulting services to businesses and law firms nationwide. He specializes in written reports and oral testimony on matters including, but not limited to, investments, damages, asset allocation, business valuation, securities research, portfolio management, and fiduciary duties and responsibilities. Mr. Wiley has performed valuations of numerous businesses in a variety of industries; assessed economic damages relating to lost wages due to injury or death; analyzed portfolios to address proper asset allocation and portfolio management practices including compliance with proper fiduciary responsibilities, and analyzed trust performance including suitability of asset class investment percentages. Marilyn Wiley, CFA

Marilyn Wiley is Senior Associate Dean and Professor of Finance in the College of Business at the University of North Texas. Prior to joining UNT in 2009, she served on the faculty of Florida Atlantic University, where she held the positions of Senior Associate Dean, MBA Director, and Internet Coast Adams Professor of Finance. Before earning her doctorate in finance from Texas A&M University, she was Vice President of Finance and Administration at Barrios Technology, Inc., a Houston-based aerospace contractor.
Dr. Wiley’s research has focused on the role of information transfer in financial markets, derivatives pricing and international market risks. Her work has appeared in a number of journals including The Journal of Finance, The Journal of Futures Markets and The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. At UNT, she teaches the undergraduate investments course and is a mentor to the Investment Research Challenge team and the Student-Managed Investment Fund.
